About
This is a Tetris-like game that incorporates components of color-group elimination
alongside traditional tetris row-elimination methods.
Along with full rows, contiguous groups of the same color will be removed. The number of blocks required per group can be configured in the game settings, but defaults to 4.
Depending on the color palette size chosen (palettes can have between 2 and 7 colors), a small or large minimum value for the size of a color group can have interesting gameplay effects. For large color palettes, it may be recommended to turn on the "Double Color Pieces" toggle. This ensures that every gamepiece has at least two blocks of the same color.
When a color group is removed, all contiguous columns of blocks above the group and to one space on either side will fall. If any contiguous groups of blocks are adjacent to any of these "falling columns" and have no direct connection to the bottom row aside a route through a falling column, then the entire contiguous group of blocks will fall as a single unit.
When enabled, "Chaos Rows" are additional rows that are incrementally added to the bottom of the game stack. These are randomly colored, and fill all except 1-3 blocks in the row.
The name comes from the fact that these cascades cause some fun effects. Play your colors well enough, and a row removal may end up connecting groups of colors which may in turn cause more eliminations. Every move is subject to two multipliers - a cascade multiplier and a move multiplier. Every additional action that results from a cascade increases the cascade multiplier, specific to that move alone. The move multiplier is increased by sequentially making moves that successfully remove blocks.
For example, if a move removes a row, which connects two color groups that are subsequently removed, the cascade multiplier for the round is 2. If on the next move any block is removed, the move multiplier for that next move is equal to 2. For any i-th move after that, the move multiplier keeps increasing, so long as the move has successfully removed blocks. If any move doesn't remove blocks, the move multiplier resets to 1.
